Beit Al Baraka, Qais, Irbid Governorate, Jordan

The only lodging in town; a stay at this bed and breakfast unlocks an inside look at the culture of Northern Jordan. Travellers who value sustainable tourism love the locally made furnishings, organic breakfast feast, welcoming common areas and basic rooms in a residential neighbourhood

An Amman-based sustainable tourism company called Baraka Destinations developed Beit al Baraka with the intent of encouraging Gadara visitors to stay longer and explore village culture and food. So a strong community vibe permeates the bed & breakfast.

Locally made furniture and rugs fill an inviting sitting room which is dominated by an artsy metal stove shaped like an abstract dog. Visitors can relax on the roof or in a colourfully tiled garden, and purchase locally harvested honey and thyme on premises.
