Beaver Creek Conservation Area

Located just outside of Saskatoon where a prairie creek meets a prairie river, Beaver Creek Conservation Area is home to one of the few uncultivated short grass prairie sites in Saskatchewan. Take a walk, feed the chickadees and enjoy the natural surroundings on one of the four trails or visit the interpretive centre to learn more.

MEEWASIN NORTHEAST SWALE

A unique prairie experience: native grassland, flora and fauna in the city. Full of all that nature has to offer from the mesmerizing song of the Western Meadowlark to the calming scent of wild Prairie Crocuses. This ancient river channel is a snapshot of real Saskatchewan prairie.

EDUCATION

As the steward of the river valley, Meewasin believes it is crucial for everyone to understand the importance of conservation. Plan a school or group tour, a nature or city hike. Seasonal canoe and interpretive cross country ski tours are also available. These opportunities provide participants with an even greater appreciation of this natural Visit Canada.
