Basilica of St. Mary, Gdansk, Pomorskie Voivodship, Poland

Konkatedralna St. Mary’s often called the “crown of Gdansk” is Europe’s largest temple built of brick. Powerful its walls and towers rise high above the city skyline and the vast surroundings.

The foundation stone of the present church was laid on the feast of the Annunciation on March 25, 1343. Temple was built in stages over 159 years. On 28 July 1502 years in the chair. 16.00 champion Henryk Hetzel put the last brick vaults.

Basilica has a length of 105.5 m, a width of 66 m transept. Volume 000 is 155 m. 27, free-standing pillars supported great stellar vault and crystal.
