Amazing Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta is the principal church in the town of Aquileia. The Aquileia basilica, dedicated to the Virgin and the Saints Ermacora and Fortunato, has an architectural history dated 313 AD. The most ancient mosaics are 3rd-century illustrations featuring the cosmological symbolism of the complex philosophy and doctrine of Gnosticism.
