Bankside Gallery is the home of the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS), and the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE). Together, we are proud to deliver a vibrant programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks and events celebrating the very best in contemporary water-based media and original prints, championing the work of both new and established artists.
About your visit to Bankside Gallery
We know that many of you may be feeling nervous about venturing out into the city, or unsure of what to expect – we want to reassure you that your safety is still our top priority. Face coverings are optional in the gallery, and we have hand-sanitising stations for you to use when handling artworks and items in the bookshop. We will no longer be restricting the number of customers in the gallery, however we do want to encourage you to keep a safe distance from others where possible. You may wish to visit us in the mornings between 11am – 12pm, or late afternoons between 4pm – 6pm when the Gallery is quieter. There is no need to book your visit to Bankside Gallery, and entry is free! Bankside Gallery is dog-friendly.
Getting to Bankside Gallery
The Gallery is situated on the Thames Path, directly in between Tate Modern and Blackfriars station. Just pop down the steps in front of the Founders Arms pub. The nearest tube stations are Southwark (Jubilee Line), Blackfriars (Circle & District Line) and London Bridge (Northern and Jubilee Line).
Bankside Gallery is open daily 11am – 6pm during exhibition times.
