Aviation Museum, Kurgan, Kurganskaya oblast, Russia 

Kurgan Aviation Museum was founded in 1985 as a departmental museum of the Kurgan Joint Aviation Squadron of the USSR Civil Aviation. The original name is the Museum of Kurgan Airport.

Since 1993, after the first stage of manning the exposition of aviation equipment, including both civilian and military aircraft, the museum is called the Kurgan Aviation Museum.

In July 2003 the museum received the status of the state, as a branch it was included in the State Regional Museum “Regional Local History Museum” of the Committee on Culture and Art of the Kurgan Region of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

As of 01/01/2013. The museum has expositions of the history of civil aviation of the Trans-Urals and aviation equipment, two permanent exhibitions: “Sports aviation of the Trans-Urals” and “Flight equipment and outfit for the Air Force crews of the 1930s-2000s, meetings of the main, scientific, auxiliary and library funds on aviation subjects.
