Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills

Tucked into Beverly Hills, this storied boutique hotel for mid-century stars like Marilyn and Desi has long been the getaway from the L.A. scene. Avalon found a second life–and its current name–when we re-imagined it as an 84-room boutique hotel in 1999. Immersed in high design and situated around a boomerang-shaped pool, patio, and jewelbox Viviane restaurant and bar, you’ll find a sincere kind of glamour: We think dining al fresco calls for a cool glass of champagne. We value the privacy of a home away from home and care that you’re well, and fed, and have endless supply of fluffy white towels. So dive in. It’s easy living. Welcome back.

This quirky, 1950s-style boutique hotel is a 3-minute drive from the Museum of Tolerance and 1.7 miles from the storied Saban Theatre. Rooms in a muted palette combine mid-century art and retro furnishings with flat-screen TVs and premium bedding; some rooms have private patios or work desks. Suites add kitchenettes, and/or living areas with pull-out sofas. In-room dining and Wi-Fi (fee) are available. Free perks include morning coffee and tea, a 24-hour gym and weekly poolside yoga classes. An on-site Italian restaurant a dining rooms with plush couches and marble tables, as well as seats near the heated, hourglass-shaped pool and cabanas.
