Atatürk Olympic Stadium
The Atatürk Olympic Stadium is a stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. Located in the western district of İkitelli, it is the largest-capacity stadium in the country. The stadium is named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey.
History
- The Construction of Atatürk Olympic Stadium was started in 1999 which is the biggest project of the Olympic Park to be built in the space of 584 hectare ,in the region of İkitell ,in Istanbul,the Cradle of Civilizations.
- The Stadium that was completed in year 2002,has the capacity of 75.145 people and includes anfi-theater,education classes and owns such a infrastructure for all kind of organisations.
- The Atatürk Olympic Stadium,one of the few stadiums in the world,even if is active since very short period,has already hosted big organisations.
- It is mentioned as an one of the very important and big stadiums of the world in the book named “Stadi del Mondo”(Stadiums of the World) which was published in 2004 by “Cribaudo Edition” in Italy.It is also in the list of “5 Stars” of UEFA.
Champions League Final
The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League will come to a dazzling conclusion in Istanbul, Türkiye on 10 June. This season’s final will be hosted at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, the largest ground in Türkiye and one of the country’s elite sports facilities. Several clubs have called it home throughout the years including Fatih Karagümrük, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş.
