Arkeologisk Museum, Stavange, Rogaland, Norway

The Archeological Museum Room has a beautiful building and is located in Våland, in the center of Stavanger.

The museum’s exhibitions and other activities provide knowledge and understanding of the prehistoric people and the interaction between man and nature. It is also important for us to facilitate reflection of the relationship we have with the past, and we want those who come to visit us to experience a meeting with a past man.

The Archaeological Museum was established in 1975 and has been part of the University of Stavanger since 2009. The museum is one of six university museums in Norway. The Archaeological Museum is responsible for collecting, preserving and preserving findings from pre-formal time and accompanying documentation from Rogaland.

We aim to be an innovative and innovative museum, and our vision is “The Open Museum”. The museum wishes to be a resource for people in Rogaland and the rest of the country in the effort of understanding both ourselves and the society we live in. We will also be a resource when it is planned for the future. And we aim at the Archaeological Museum to be a meeting place, both between culture in the past and present, and between people from different cultures today.
