Arkas Art Center Izmir, Konak, İzmir, Turkey
Arkas Art Center was established in line with the desire to share Arkas Collection with art lovers, formed by the personal interest and professional approach of Arkas Holding Chairman Lucien Arkas.
The seafront part of the French Honorary Consulate building, which has been serving as one of the most beautiful structures in İzmir since 1875, was allocated to Arkas Holding for 20 years for cultural and artistic purposes by the French Government. After a year of restoration work, the building was opened in November 2011 under the name of Arkas Art Center.
The two-storey historical building, converted into a contemporary art center, has 10 exhibition rooms. The Arkas Art Center is not only a historic building that has been acquired in Izmir, but also the first art center to exhibit the works of many international painters.
