Archaeological Park d’Agongointo, Bohicon, Benin  

Underground ancient dwellings consisting of a series of cellars of the German bunker type, made of tropical ferruginous soil and presenting different geometrical shapes. .

Located about 10 meters below ground, these cellars have been designed in the light of specific plans to be used as living quarters living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen rooms, wells etc and refuge to warriors. According to the information available, these houses were built since the 16th century under the reign of King DAKODONOU.
