Angelo Bissessarsingh Heritage House

Formerly referred to as the “Meyler House”, this house is protected under the National Trust Act of Trinidad and Tobago. Some early owners were Kelvin B Joseph, who sold to Mr Michael Toney and his wife. The building was used as a mediation centre for lawyers. In 2022 the property was purchased by Carmelita Bissessarsingh, the sister of Angelo Bissessarsingh. His brother Mario also is the co-director of the house

We aim to provide a space for meaningful reflection and education, where visitors can engage with the stories, artefacts, and landmarks shaping this community and its broader context. Through our exhibits, programming, and outreach efforts, we strive to foster a deeper understanding of the diverse peoples, cultures, and events that have contributed to the vibrant tapestry of our shared history.

Our vision is a space where the treasures of our past are thoughtfully preserved for the benefit of future generations. We believe that the careful stewardship of our cultural, natural, and built heritage is essential to fostering understanding, promoting creativity, and enriching the human experience.
