Ancient Theatre of Larissa, Larisa, Greece

To grander First Ancient Theatre of Larissa, was constructed in the first half of the 3rd century BC at the southern foot of the hill “Fortress”, which was the fortified citadel of the ancient city. It operated until the end of the 3rd century or early 4th century. AD, when it was abruptly interrupted his life.

An earthquake in the late 2nd century or early 3rd century AD destroyed the second floor of the stage, the Doric entablature and part of a greater epitheatre. A second very strong earthquake in the 7th century AD almost brought about the complete ruin.
