Emma Aparici Vázquez de Parga was born in Madrid in 1973. She holds a law degree and joined the Spanish Foreign Service in 2004.

Throughout her diplomatic career, she has held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain, working im th office of different Ministers and in the Directorate-General for the United Nations. Overseas, she served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Spanish Embassy in Libya and as Secretary at the Mission of Spain to the United Nations. She also served as Secretary General for Foreign Affairs at the Prime Minister of Spain´s Office. She has been awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic and the Order of Civil Merit.
