Älvsborg Castle, Gothenburg, Vastra Gotaland County, Sweden

During the war with Denmark in 1717–1719 the fortress was attacked time after time without being occupied. Today it is one of the most popular outings in Gothenburg. Strömma archipelago boats and Svenska Västkuslinjen boats take you to the island.

Today, Svenska Västkustlinjen offer visitors the opportunity to dine at a tavern located in a 17th century house, hold conferences and meetings in historic buildings and book fun activities such as beer tastings and oyster classes. Starting 2017, Svenska Västkustlinjen will be offering boat tours to New Älvsborg Fortress.
