Alvear, Montilla, Córdoba, Spain

Founded in 1729 by Don Diego de Alvear y Escalera, Alvear is the oldest winery in Andalusia and the second in Spain. Eight generations later, this family business still retains the same essence. It has a winery, several aging cellars and 200 hectares of own vineyard of the variety Pedro Ximénez, in the area of superior quality of the Sierra de Montilla.

The visit to the winery offers a tour full of charm in which the winery, the fermentation room and the ageing cellars will be known. The visit ends with a tasting of some of the most emblematic wines of the winery.Among the many prizes and mentions with which his wines count, it is possible to emphasise one of the present ones: the 100 points that Robert Parker has given to his PX of Añada 2011. This emphasises the Award to the “Best Touristic Company 2008” of Cordova.

The duration of the guided tour is approximately 1: 30h and includes tasting of initiation with accompaniment. Monday to Saturday 12.30h without appointment | Monday to Saturday 16.30h by appointment | Sundays and holidays by appointment
