Akkum Sahili Beach, Yumurtalık, Adana, Turkey 

Adana Yumurtalik Beach received the “Blue Flag” award. Thus, for the first time, a blue flag was planted in Adana. The number of Blue Flag beaches in Turkey was also 436’y to come.

Governor Mustafa Büyük stated that the award has a great prominence in the international tourism market, according to AA’s report. 
“Blue Flag” is an international environmental award given to qualified beaches and marinas with necessary standards. It has a safe standard for resorts, just like the number of stars in a facility. It is a symbol of clean, well-maintained, equipped, safe and therefore civilized, sustainable environment. Clean sea water for the beaches, and then represents a good environmental management with the necessary equipment, giving importance to environmental education and information. The Yumurtalik beach is qualified to receive the ‘Blue Flag’ because it has these prescribed criteria. While the compliance of the Yumurtalık shore with the ‘Blue Flag’ was proved, a significant gain was achieved in the development of tourism.
