Akasaka Palace, Minato, Japan

The Akasaka Palace has been open to the public since 1975 for 10 days a year during a summer period, with a view to enhancing the understanding of the public on the significance of the Palace, as the national facility, playing an important role in the Japanese diplomacy.

As the Palace was registered as a national treasure in 2009, efforts have been made to increase the opportunity to the public to show this invaluable national treasure.

Based on the outcome of the trial opening of a limited period in February, 2016, public opening throughout a year avoiding the periods of the visit of foreign dignitaries commences on April, 2016.
