Ahlat Mezar Taslari, Bitlis, Turkey

This is the largest surviving Seljuk cemetery, with some 8000 interments. The gravestones are a dark brown volcanic stone from Ahlat. It is notable that the gravestones of the judges are larger than other dignitaries! There also some fine kumbets on the site. It’s a really nice cemetery.
