Abha Dam Lake, Abha
Abha dam, located on the western edge of the city of Abha, was constructed to reserve rainwater and floods in the Valley to maintain and provide drinking water for the city. It spans a length of 350 meters & a height of 33 meters with 2.13 million cubic meters of storage capacity.
An adjacent lake has been developed on one side of Abha dam that serves as an attractive picnic spot for the visitors. This lake is home to several species of birds including the new Saudi Arabian species named Hammerkop.
