27 Grand Street Hotel
This simple, chic hotel is set in the heart of lower Manhattan. Standard guestrooms are smaller (you won’t forget you’re in Manhattan), but you can expect killer views in many, as well as top-tier amenities. Given the large windows, there’s not much by way of art or decor, just crisp white bedding and ash-wood furnishings.
The awe-inspiring rooftop bar, Jimmy at the James, has long been a hotspot for downtown’s movers and shakers, but the new Gitano Jungle Room, imported from Tulum in Mexico, has become the source of major buzz. The location is on the edge of SoHo and mere blocks from TriBeCa, so if shopping at Iro, Isabel Marant, or A.P.C. is your idea of a good time, this is the place to be.
