Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Krakow, Malopolskie Voivodeship, Poland
Whether you are a Catholic visitor or not, there is still a chance that you will discover the appeal and gracefulness that this place emanates with. As Krakow itself is an important site for Polish believers of many denominations (with 138 shrines operating there), a visit to the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Krakow makes for a nice complement to the trail of Gothic Catholic churches and Jewish synagogues located in the area.
The believers will remember it as a calm place where 4 papal visits were hosted and St. Faustina Kowalska experienced some of her holy visions, captured in the “Jesus, I trust in you” paining.
Those who came there or architecture will enjoy the modern boat-like shape of the newer part of the complex, the neo-Gothic interiors of the original part of it and a refreshing view of Krakow stretching from the top of the sanctuary’s tower.
