Aberdeen Promenade

Aberdeen Promenade is a small public waterfront park in Aberdeen, a town on the southern tip of Hong Kong Island. Aberdeen used to be a simple fishing village but has modernized in recent years becoming one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant waterfront residential and leisure areas. The 800-meter long promenade is a major hub along Aberdeen’s coast. This is where taxis, public and tourist buses drop off passengers. On the west end of the promenade are the Dried Seafood Stalls and Seafood Market while a Squash & Tennis Center is located on the east.

The park has landscaped areas and water fountains. Facilities include an open-air plaza, children’s playground, basketball court, rest rooms, vending machines,  and seating areas. Near the promenade are a few of piers, which serve as starting point for the ferries to the Floating Restaurants and the island of Ap Lei Chau offshore. There are also numerous “Sampan Ride” stations. To get to the Aberdeen Promenade, take Bus 70 from Exchange Square. You can also take a taxi from Central (should be about HK$70).
