St Helens in the Park is a 36 acre caravan and camping site near Scarborough.Situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, St Helens is an attractive, established park offering a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere set in wonderful surroundings with first-class facilities. Just six miles from Scarborough, our large caravan and camping site has 100 touring pitches and two separate camping fields as well as purpose built wooden camping pods for hire. We have lots of family pitches both hard standing and grass, with a number of play areas and for those wanting peace and quiet relaxation, we have our adults only zone.

Situated on the 3000 acre family owned Dawnay Estate,  our camping facilities at St Helens are excellent with 33 spacious, flat camping pitches available. We have two camping fields – one which shares the children’s play area, ideal for families, and one which is in a quieter location closer to the Downe Arms. We have 13 pet free pitches which are close to the children’s area. Pets are welcome at our other pitches. All our tent pitches at St Helens are spacious, allocated areas with no overcrowding.  There is no electric hook up for camping pitches.

Camping pods

Our purpose built wooden camping pods offer a truly unique camping experience. All you need to bring with you is your camping and sleeping equipment, there’s no need to worry about putting your tent up and down! Each camping pod sleeps up to four people and has enough space for two double sized air mattresses or camp beds. Thanks to their fantastic insulation, the camping pods are kept warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months with a window and locking French doors able to offer additional ventilation in hotter weather. Camping pods are hugely popular with children and adults alike because not only is it like having a huge den, they’re also hassle free. So, why not try a camping pod for a change – it’s just like camping but more secure, more comfortable and without the need for a tent!
