Dunham Massey is a historic estate located near Altrincham in Greater Manchester, managed by the National Trust. It features a stunning Georgian mansion that was originally built in the 17th century and later remodeled, serving as the former home of prominent families like the Booths and the Greys, Earls of Warrington and Stamford. The house is filled with treasures, including impressive collections of silver, furniture, paintings, and a library of historic books, offering visitors a glimpse into centuries of aristocratic life and intriguing family stories.

Surrounding the mansion is an ancient deer park spanning over 300 acres of beautiful parkland, where herds of fallow deer roam freely among centuries-old oak trees and pasture-woodland. This medieval deer park, first documented in the 14th century, provides a peaceful natural escape with accessible paths, rich wildlife, and a sense of timeless tranquility, making it ideal for walking and connecting with nature close to the urban edge of Manchester.

The gardens at Dunham Massey are celebrated as a delight for all seasons, featuring historic landmarks such as an Elizabethan mount, an 18th-century orangery, and unique structures like the bark house. Carefully maintained with diverse planting, seasonal blooms, and tranquil water features, the gardens complement the house and park, creating a harmonious estate that blends heritage, horticulture, and outdoor exploration for visitors of all ages.
