Scottish Event Campus

The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) at the Scottish Event Campus on 1 – 12 November 2021. The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. This is a significant and important event for Glasgow, Scotland and the UK at a crucial time for governments across the world as they address the escalating issue of climate change. The SEC is honoured to have been identified as the location for this globally significant conference.

In 2014, Glasgow was voted ‘World’s Friendliest City’ in a Rough Guide poll. World-renowned travel magazine National Geographic Traveller named Glasgow as one of its 20 ‘Best of the World’ destinations for 2016. The respected Lonely Planet guide recently said of the city: “Glasgow is regenerating and evolving at a dizzying pace. Its Victorian architectural legacy is now swamped with cutting-edge style bars and world-class venues to tickle your taste buds. The city is going through a long-term transformation, evident along the revitalised River Clyde.” According to a recent Experian poll, Glasgow offers the best shopping in the UK outside London’s west end.

The Riverside 100 service operates from George Square in Glasgow city centre directly to the SEC. The timetable for this service is available here. Service X19 Route Update – NHS Louisa Jordan. The X19 will now serve NHS Louisa Jordan every 10 minutes (You can view the updated X19 timetable). There are more than 20 direct trains per day from London. Direct trains from Edinburgh run every 15 minutes on weekdays. Scotrail is the main operator in Scotland and has information on the West Highland Line, the North Highland Line and Caledonian Sleepers (overnight trains from Scotland to London).

If you arrive at Queen Street, you’ll need to walk or get a bus to Central to continue your journey by train. The SEC has its own dedicated railway station – Exhibition Centre – allowing easy access from the city centre and suburbs. There are six trains an hour (around every 10 minutes) from Glasgow Central station, departing from Platform 17 (low level).
