Sarah Rose is a highly accomplished media executive currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales. With a career spanning three decades in UK public service broadcasting, Rose is celebrated for her strategic leadership and her ability to drive commercial success while maintaining a deep commitment to public service. She officially stepped into her role at the Foundation in February 2026, bringing a fresh, optimistic vision to one of the world’s most prominent philanthropic organizations during a period of significant growth and global scaling.
Historically, Rose’s professional journey began as a graduate on ITV’s fast-track management scheme, eventually leading her to serve as the General Manager of ITV’s Digital Channels. Her career is marked by long-term tenures at major broadcasters, including 14 years at Channel 4, where she reached the position of Chief Consumer and Strategy Officer and spearheaded the launch of their VOD service, All4. Most recently, she served as the President of Channel 5 and UK Regional Lead at Paramount, where she led the broadcaster to consecutive years of operating profit and saw it named “Channel of the Year” at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
Culturally, Rose is a champion of creative storytelling and social advocacy, values that align perfectly with the mission of The Royal Foundation. Her role involves overseeing a diverse and impactful portfolio of programs, including Homewards, which aims to end homelessness; the Centre for Early Childhood, focused on formative development; and United for Wildlife, which battles the illegal wildlife trade. By transitioning from the peak of the media industry to the nonprofit sector, she models a motivating path of using professional excellence to tackle society’s most urgent challenges, ensuring that the Foundation’s work remains rooted in creativity and empathy.
The Royal Foundation stands as a powerful force for good, a testament to the belief that with the right focus and collaboration, society’s biggest challenges can be met head-on. It’s not just a grant-giving body; it’s a catalyst for change, bringing together leaders, businesses, and passionate individuals to create meaningful and lasting impact. With a steadfast commitment to areas like mental health, early childhood, and the environment, the Foundation has launched groundbreaking initiatives that go far beyond traditional charity work. From changing the national conversation on mental health with the “Heads Together” campaign to inspiring global environmental innovation with The Earthshot Prize, its work is driven by a deep conviction that a better future is not only possible but within our grasp.
What truly makes The Royal Foundation so inspiring is its optimistic and proactive approach. Instead of simply managing problems, it seeks to tackle them at their root. This forward-thinking mindset is at the heart of initiatives like “Homewards,” a groundbreaking five-year programme to demonstrate that homelessness can be ended, and the “Centre for Early Childhood,” which is raising awareness about the pivotal importance of a child’s first five years. The Foundation’s work is a powerful reminder that every challenge holds the potential for a solution, and that by convening the best and brightest minds, we can build a world where communities are stronger, people are healthier, and our planet is protected for generations to come.
