Changbai Mountain Notinal Nature Reserve, China
Changbai Mountain National Natural Reserve is located in the Southeast of Jilin province, and adjoins the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea with its Southeastern part. Established in 1960, Changbai Mountain National Natural Reserve is one of the oldest and most important Nature Reserves in China, and mainly conserve biodiversity in forest ecosystems.
In January 1980, Changbai Mountain Natural Reserve joined in the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserves Network after the application by the State Council. In July 1986, it was approved to be “National Forest and Wildlife Type Natural Reserve” by the State Council.
