Freedom Square, Yerevan, Armenia
Walk through the historic Freedom Square, once the main square for public rallies in Armenia’s capital just outside Yerevan Opera House. Now a high-end pedestrian shopping area, the square features a pond and serves as a great spot for people-watching, especially in the nearby park. Examine the square’s interesting greenery, try a grass-covered piano, a saxophone, or a giant guitar, and admire the cheerful bronze sculpture of two famous Armenian composers. Centered on a pond that becomes an ice rink in winter time, the square features many cafes and shops, as well as a large parking lot below.
