Seven Lakes, Tajikistan
Linked to a local legend, Seven Lakes were supposedly formed by the tears of seven sisters. Hike up the surrounding hills to see to see all seven bodies of water. You’ll find the locals hospitable and willing to sell you refreshments–sitting down with them for a meal remains one of the best ways to experience local food and culture.
