Frunze Museum, Kyrgyzstan

Explore the country’s history at Mikhail Frunze Museum, a metallic, cube-shaped building, the three-story museum documents the life of the Bishkek-born Bolshevik leader who gave name to the city during its Soviet period. A preserved house in which Frunze grew up is on the ground floor with well-restored rooms and genuine household items. The museum has well-laid out artifacts, genuine documents, and old photographs as well as scale models of military machines, airplanes, and trains. You can explore a relief map of Frunze’s travels in Kyrgyzstan and a restored dining room. There is very little labeling in English, so you should do a bit of research prior to your visit if you don’t speak Russian.
