Roman Amphitheater of Sabratha, UNESCO, Libya

Sabratha’s amphitheatre rests in what was, and still is, the outskirts of the city. The remaining structure is quite well-preserved, allowing plenty of remains to tickle your imagination.

Sabratha’s amphitheatre was built in the 2nd century CE, and could seat about 10,000 spectators. Today the underground tunnels have lost their original wooden roof.
