Museum of the Khalifa’s House, Omdurman, Sudan
See artifacts from the Mahdi era at Khalifa House Museum, along with the Mahdi’s silver-domed tomb next to it. Abdallahi Ibn Mohammed aka Khalifa lived here, and because of being a prominent figure, they made a museum from his house. Built in the late 19th century, but established in 1924, the museum takes you back to the period from 1881 to 1899, and you can see different artifacts documenting it. In most rooms, you can learn about important battles and local leaders. See photos, weapons, and clothing worn back then.
