Atakpamé, Togo
The thriving town of Atakpamé, which is on a hill, completes the ” coffee-cocoa triangle ” formed by Kpalimé , Badou and Atakpamé .
In the past, Atakpamé was a mountain refuge . Later, during the German colonization , the city became an agricultural and administrative center .With a little luck, one can attend a staged dance show on stilts . It is one of the most famous dances of Togo and one of the specialties of the region
Nowadays, Atakpamé remains a major agricultural center. It is also a production center; there is an important textile factory.
