Kashuni Falls, Shari, Japan
The water of Kashuni Waterfall falls from directly above a large round cave. In Ainu language, Kashuni means “place of a temporary hut”. It is said that Ainu people stayed overnight at this spot when they traveled between Utoro and the cape.
This waterfall is not consisted by a river. Rain and snow fallen onto the Shiretoko mountain range penetrate into the ground, then it flows down from the crack at the 100m high. The way it flow looks like girl crying so it is called “tears of maidena”
