Point Chevalier Beach, Point Chevalier, Auckland 1022, New Zealand
Point Chevalier Beach is one of the best beaches on the Waitemata harbour and certainly the best west of the city. With its safe swimming, ample shade and the excellent playground in adjacent Colye Park, it makes a great inner city outing for the family.
The beach is well sanded and offers good swimming near high tide. The best place to put down a blanket is at the southern end, where there is a flat grassy area with plenty of shade. It is quite a walk from the carpark, so it’s best to park along Harbour View Rd and take one of the paths down to the beach.
