Buddha Park, Ravangala, Sikkim, India
On the edge of town is the sprawling Tathagata Tsal, a Buddhism-themed park dominated by a giant 41m-tall Buddha statue, which holds Buddhist relics from 13 countries. Within the superstructure is a gallery showcasing scenes from Buddha’s life. Blessed by the Dalai Lama in 2010, the site boasts manicured lawns, fountains, ambient lighting, a meditation lounge and lots of photo-ops.
