Bigal Castle, Eceabat, Canakkale, Turkey
Bigalı Castle which is placed into the 10 km long part of the road is seen on the way from Eceabat to Çanakkale. It was started to build during 3.Selim period and It was completed during 2.Mahmut period.
Nara Castle which is opposite the Bigalı Castle and Bigalı Castle were started to build in the same time. To protect the route of İstanbul and to obstruct the enemy’s submarines which wanted to cross the Dardanelles strait, steel trawls were inserted into the sea. The castle is in ruin now but the front door of the castle still exists.
