Centro Cultural de España

The Centro Cultural de España en México is a dynamic cultural institution in the historic heart of Mexico City that celebrates Spanish and international art, music, film, literature, science, and creative industries in an open, inclusive space. The centre offers free exhibitions, performances, workshops, screenings, and public programmes that explore contemporary cultural expressions while fostering collaboration between Mexican and Spanish artists and thinkers. Its programming spans visual arts, performing arts, humanities, children’s activities, and public debates, making it a lively destination for both locals and visitors interested in cultural exchange and creative innovation. The centre also houses a museum of site that connects to pre‑Hispanic archaeological remains beneath the building, highlighting Mexico’s deep historical layers.

Visitors can explore the exhibitions and spaces from Tuesday through Saturday between 11 am and 9 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, with free entry to all exhibitions and most activities. It is situated just behind the

Metropolitan Cathedral in the Centro Histórico, making it convenient to combine with other historic sites. The programming is designed to be accessible, with ramps, elevators, and inclusive services, and staff are available to assist with event information and visits. Tickets for special events are usually free but may require advance registration depending on demand.
