Susannah Goshko is a career Diplomatic Service officer who took up her role as British Ambassador to Mexico in November 2024. Before her arrival in Mexico, Susannah was posted to Canada, where she spent 3 years as British High Commissioner.
She has significant experience working in London, including most recently as Principal Private Secretary to the then Foreign Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister, from 2019 to 2021.
Susannah has spent her career working on national security issues (focusing on counter terrorism and intelligence policy) and has developed regional specialism in North America (as well as Canada, she has also been posted to the United States twice).
Her other experience includes working for the Department for Exiting the EU (where she was responsible for setting up the team that led on the Withdrawal Agreement), a posting to Nairobi, as the UK’s Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN Habitat, and a posting to Havana, Cuba.
