The Mayor (officially known as Landammann or Gemeindepräsident) of Davos, Switzerland, is Mr. Philipp Wilhelm.
He’s a member of the Social Democratic Party (SP) and has held the position since 2021, making him the first Social Democrat in this role for the Alpine resort town. Born in Davos in 1988 (raised in the nearby village of Monstein), Wilhelm studied architecture at ETH Zurich, worked as an independent architect, and has a background in local and cantonal politics. He previously protested against the World Economic Forum (WEF) in his youth but now supports its hosting in Davos, emphasizing its economic importance and working to make the town more sustainable, affordable, and modern.
Mayor Wilhelm was re-elected in April 2024 for a second term (2025–2028), and as of January 2026, he remains in office, actively involved in preparations for major events like the ongoing WEF Annual Meeting (January 19–23, 2026). He’s often seen representing Davos at the Forum itself, speaking on topics like equality, sustainability, and the town’s role in global dialogue.
