Located in Midrand, on the edge of Greater Johannesburg, the Nizamiye Mosque is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful mosques in South Africa.Designed in a style inspired by Ottoman architecture, it is modelled after the 16th-century Selimiye Mosque in Turkey. Completed in 2012, it features a massive central dome (31 m high), surrounded by 21 smaller domes, and four minarets each 55 m tall. Its interior is richly decorated with Turkish calligraphy, handmade ceramics, and stained glass, and it can accommodate up to 6,000 worshippers.
