Porto Futuro II in Belém is an ambitious redevelopment project that reimagines the city’s historic waterfront along Guajará Bay. Conceived as the second phase of the broader Porto Futuro initiative, it seeks to transform old port warehouses and industrial spaces into a vibrant cultural, gastronomic, and leisure hub. The project blends history with modern innovation by restoring historic warehouses while introducing new attractions such as a Museum of the Amazônia, a Caixa Cultural arts center, and a Bioeconomy Park. These elements not only preserve Belém’s maritime identity but also anchor its future as a creative and sustainable city, especially as the area prepares to host global attention during COP 30 in 2025.
The site is designed to welcome the community with wide plazas, interactive water features, children’s play areas, bike racks, and panoramic viewpoints created from restored cranes. These features reflect a vision of urban renewal that prioritizes both beauty and accessibility. By revitalizing the port’s landscape, Porto Futuro II honors Belém’s historic role as a gateway to the Amazon while offering a new gathering space for culture, leisure, and innovation. The project is already more than three-quarters complete and is scheduled to open its first phase by October 2025, with further development continuing into 2026.
A central highlight of Porto Futuro II will be its gastronomic complex, set to host 15 restaurants and bars offering a dynamic mix of flavors. From Amazonian classics such as açaí and regional ice creams to international cuisines like Italian, Japanese, and artisanal burgers, the culinary offerings aim to mirror Belém’s diverse cultural identity.
