Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium

Outdoor action in 660 acres of woods, farmland, lakes and streams with hiking and biking trails. Sandwell Valley Country Park is a country park, run by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, in Sandwell Valley, on the River Tame in the middle of the urban conurbation between Birmingham and West Bromwich in West Midlands, England.

After spending 94 years at Fellows Park, Walsall moved to the Bescot Stadium in 1990 and was officially opened by Sir Stanley Matthews. Since then a sponsorship deal has seen the stadium renamed Banks’s Stadium. The stadium has played host to England Women’s Internationals as well as an Elton John concert. Following an extension to the Tile Choice Stand in 2003, the stadium is now all seater. The remaining three stands are all identical in style and height. The atmosphere inside the stadium is really good due to the corners all being filled in.

Away fans visiting Banks’s Stadium are located in the University of Wolverhampton Stand, with a typical allocation of around 2,000. A key highlight in the stadium’s history is its record attendance. The highest crowd ever recorded at the Poundland Bescot Stadium was 11,049, which took place on May 9, 2004, for a match between Walsall and Rotherham United. While the stadium’s original capacity was 11,104 when it first opened, it was later slightly reduced and then expanded to its current size. Another interesting fact about the stadium is its visibility. Located right next to the M6 motorway, it is well-known for the large advertising hoarding on the back of one of its stands, which is clearly visible to thousands of passing drivers every day. This unique feature makes it a very recognizable landmark.
