HRH King Charles celebrates the 35th anniversary of The King’s Foundation
King Charles celebrated the 35th anniversary of The King’s Foundation a prestigious ceremony held at St. James’s Palace in London. Established in 1990, the Foundation has grown into a leading force for sustainability, heritage preservation, and community development.
As part of the celebrations, King Charles presented the King Charles III Harmony Award to Professor Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel laureate recognized for his exceptional contributions to sustainable development and his dedication to improving lives globally. The honors recognised outstanding contributions in areas such as global impact, entrepreneurship, education, innovation, and advocacy.

The event brought together an impressive guest list, including David Beckham, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, and Stanley Tucci, to honour the Foundation’s enduring impact and achievements. Guests also reflected on the remarkable success of the Foundation, which has trained over 115,000 people in environmental and heritage education, supported the growth of 15,000 students each year, and transformed more than half a million lives through its community-focused programs.
Over the years, the Foundation has launched innovative initiatives that promote sustainability and resilience. Its work has included restoring historic sites, fostering youth employment, and championing eco-friendly practices. These efforts have set a global standard, inspiring others to adopt similar approaches to build stronger, greener communities.
David Beckham, a dedicated ambassador for the Foundation since 2024, played a key role in the event, with many speculating on his growing recognition for his charitable contributions. The evening also introduced a forthcoming Amazon Prime documentary, slated for release in 2026, which will highlight the Foundation’s work and its vision for a sustainable future.
The celebration not only honored the Foundation’s milestones but also underscored King Charles’s lifelong dedication to creating a better world. Through education, innovation, and collaboration, The King’s Foundation continues to pave the way for meaningful change, demonstrating the powerful impact of commitment and vision.
Over its 35-year history, The King’s Foundation has achieved remarkable educational milestones, including training over 115,000 students in sustainability, heritage, and environmental education. It has positively impacted the lives of more than 500,000 individuals through community regeneration efforts and continues to enroll approximately 15,000 students annually in its diverse and impactful programs.
HRH King Charles launches a celebration Time Capsule
The King launched a time capsule to mark The King’s Foundation at 35, a project which will run throughout the year. The time capsule will eventually be buried on the Dumfries House estate and opened in one hundred years’ time. His Majesty placed the first item, his secateurs that he uses for gardening on the estate, into the specially-created box before hearing from other guests gathered about their own contributions. His Majesty also penned a special letter to rest in the time capsule.
“We are so proud of what The King’s Foundation has achieved over the past 35 years. I hope those uncovering the time capsule in 2125 will recognise the positive impact both The King and His Foundation have had on the world and its communities.”
Kristina Murrin CBE, Chief Executive of The King’s Foundation
