The Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA) is a cornerstone of Cornwall’s rural heritage, established in 1793 to promote excellence and innovation in agriculture. Over the centuries, it has evolved into a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting the county’s farming community and celebrating its rich traditions.
At the heart of the RCAA’s activities is the Royal Cornwall Show, held annually at the Wadebridge showground since 1960. This three-day event attracts over 117,000 visitors, showcasing livestock competitions, agricultural displays, local produce, crafts, and entertainment. The show serves as a vibrant gathering that highlights the best of Cornwall’s countryside and community.
Beyond the show, the RCAA manages the Royal Cornwall Events Centre, a venue for various events throughout the year, and runs educational outreach programs in schools across the county. As a registered charity since 1926, the Association remains committed to advancing agriculture, horticulture, forestry, conservation, and industry for the public benefit, ensuring that Cornwall’s rural traditions and innovations continue to thrive for future generations.
