Chief Commissioner Jesús Herranz Torrubia, born in 1961 in El Pobo de Dueñas, Guadalajara, Spain, embarked on his distinguished career with the National Police in 1981. His early assignments included roles in the Basque Country, followed by a significant tenure in Valencia, where he led the Unidad de Intervención Policial and later served as Chief of Section and Chief of Service at the Central Headquarters. In 2018, he was appointed Chief of Police for La Rioja, a position he held until his appointment as Chief Commissioner of the Basque Country in December 2021
Throughout his career, Herranz Torrubia has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Police Merit Cross with Red Badge and three Police Merit Crosses with White Badge, reflecting his commitment to public safety and leadership.
