Husedalen Valley, Kinsarvik, Hordaland, Norway
A masterpiece of nature’s work” meant the English tourist Charles Boilieu Elliott in 1830, when after a hard hike over Hardangervidda, for the first gong, he saw Ullensvang and Hardangerfjorden. From the top of the mountain side he saw a powerful Folgefonn, beautiful waterfalls, one quiet southern fjord and a cultural landscape with small curtains on steep mountainsides.
Several reunions where mountain-raided afterwards. “Had I known this was so beautiful, I had come before,” should Bjørnson have said when he watches Ullensvang for the first time. Edvard Grieg liked herself well here too, and was fast summer summer.
