Ambassador Shri Kumar Tuhin

Shri Kumar Tuhin, a distinguished member of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) from the 1991 batch, currently serves as the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Prior to this, he held the position of Director General at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), where he played a pivotal role in promoting India’s rich cultural heritage globally. 

Throughout his illustrious career, Ambassador Tuhin has held several significant diplomatic assignments. He served as the Ambassador of India to Hungary, where he strengthened bilateral ties and enhanced cooperation between the two nations. Earlier, he was appointed as India’s High Commissioner to Namibia, contributing to the deepening of relations and fostering mutual understanding. Before joining the IFS, Ambassador Tuhin served in the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, showcasing his diverse professional background.

In September 2024, Ambassador Tuhin was appointed as the Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, succeeding Ambassador Venu Rajamony. In this role, he continues to enhance bilateral relations, focusing on areas such as trade, culture, and technology, while representing India’s interests in the Dutch-speaking world.
