Moltkebrücke

Red-sandstone, arched bridge across the Spree River, decorated with statues of 19th-century artists. The Moltkebrücke, or Moltke Bridge, is an elegant and historic bridge that spans the River Spree in Berlin. Named after the Prussian field marshal Helmuth von Moltke the Elder, it is renowned for its neoclassical design and graceful arches. Completed in 1891, the Moltkebrücke has become an important transportation artery in the city, connecting the districts of Mitte and Moabit. It offers pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles a picturesque crossing over the tranquil waters of the Spree. With its ornate detailing and scenic views, the Moltke Bridge is not only a practical link between neighborhoods but also a charming architectural gem that adds to Berlin’s rich cultural heritage.
